 Mailboxen: im Fido-Net, dem weltweit ältesten Mailbox-Netz, die kleinste Einheit des Netzwerks. Ein Point ist gewissermaßen ein »Endverbraucher«, der seine Fido-Post bei einer Mailbox abholt und selbst geschriebene Mails dort abliefert (genauer gesagt ist ein Point die dafür benötigte Software). Jeder Point wird durch seine Point-Nummer eindeutig identifiziert. Im Gegensatz zu den Points sind Nodes (»Knoten«) Betreiber von eigenen Mailboxen.
